(Sioux City, Iowa U.S.A. - June 1, 2010)  Total Baseball Development of Sioux City will be operating the Iowa NTIS (National Team Identification Series for Team USA); a series of 9 baseball showcases for 3 age groups in early August across the state of Iowa in Des Moines, Iowa City, & Sioux City on behalf of USA Baseball www.usabaseball.com

The Iowa NTIS showcases are for the specific 3 age groups of 13 Under, 15 Under, and 17 Under, and will be conducted to evaluate and identify the best baseball players in these specific age groups in the state of Iowa.  Here are the USA Baseball age guidelines:

• 17U players in 2010 are to be born on or after January 1, 1993; for the 2011 18U Team USA

• 15U players in 2010 are to be born on or after January 1, 1995; for the 2011 16U Team USA

• 13U players in 2010 are to be born on or after January 1, 1997; for the 2011 14U Team USA

 The goal of the Iowa NTIS showcases are to identify the best players in the state of Iowa, and to send them on to represent the Great Lakes Region at USA Baseball’s NTIS at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina from September 9 to 12. 

 USA Baseball divides the United States into regions, and Iowa is in the Great Lakes Region along with Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.  The three Great Lakes Region teams of 13U, 15U, and 17U; will sport 18 player rosters each, and will play against other regional teams from across the nation to impress Team USA scouts, recruiters, and evaluators in hopes of making Team USA in 2011 for 14U, 16U, and 18U.  The goal is to make Team USA. 

 Here are the 3 Iowa NTIS locations with all 9 showcases in order of dates to be held:

Recruiters & scouts from 50 colleges and all 30 MLB teams will be invited to attend

• Dowling Catholic H.S. in West Des Moines: August 1 – 17U; August 2 - 15U; August 3 – 13U
• Iowa City West H.S. in Iowa City: August 6 – 13U; August 7 – 15U; August 8 – 17U
• Sioux City West H.S. in Sioux City: August 10 – 13U; August 11 – 15U; August 12 – 17U

Workouts will begin with an 8:30am check-in and start at 9:00am.  Players will be tested in running, throwing, fielding, hitting, & baseball skill drills until 12:00 noon.  1 hour lunch.  From 1:00pm to 4:00pm there will be live games.  Some of the Iowa NTIS showcase times may be adjusted for various locations on some of the dates to allow for maximum participation.  For all scheduling updates see the website: www.totalbaseballdevelopment.com or the Iowa NTIS Facebook page.  In-process instruction will be provided.  Each workout in each city for each individual age group will be limited to 30 players.  The cost per player per workout will be $139 online or $125 cash discount.  For all Iowa NTIS details and to sign a player up, or to refer quality players please visit the Great Lakes NTIS website below & click on IOWA.

 Team USA coach Bill Krejci of Creston, Iowa will serve as an Iowa NTIS evaluator and advisor as well as a Team USA evaluator in Cary, North Carolina in September.
